Maigrau, the German design team of Alex Stamminger and Nik Back, has just launched new products at the Blickfang design fair in Stuttgart where they received a gold award. Line is a minimalist tray that functions as a shelf, singly or in multiples to create a wall installation. Split is an equally zen fruit bowl of laser cut aluminium, all angles and geometry.

Thrill of the (book and stair) case

A small residential nest was blessed with this innovative and efficient interior treatment. London-based Levitate Architects dreamed up a staggered stair case cozily inhabited by the renters’ impressive book collection–a magically literate ascension to the lofted sleeping area above.
