Continuing on my ceramics kick, I thought I’d do a post on Coe & Waito. The duo makes beautiful ceramic objects from porcelain, either by handbuilding or using moulds, and sometimes silk screening details on finished pieces.
Jennifer Maestre’s sculptures were inspired by sea urchins. The form and the function of the spines: beauty, defense and texture can easily be symbolized by pencils. Then she found other inspirations in mythology, plants, animals, other arts…
