With so much tech accessorizing coming in the form of metals and plastics, its refreshing to see this new i/o Desk Organizer from Kaiju Studios that is made of walnut wood and felt. This modular system allows for constant reorganization depending on your needs, with everything from cable wraps, dividers, picture holders, and more. The design uses natural, warm materials that are ecologically responsible.
The Swan is a desk by Louis Beliveau, one half of the Montreal design team Les Chics Types. The ugly duckling nature of raw steel is turned into a powder-coated origami swan with so many slots and spots for cables. The desk is minimalist and its built-in cable organizer and power bar ensure that it stays that way.
Fredrikson Stallard are presenting Cavern, a roomscape of furniture, lighting and accessories for Swarovski Crystal Palace in Milan next month. The collection includes furniture (ebonized oak, leather or cast concrete) whose monolith forms are dotted with cavernous openings, which in turn are encrusted with crystals. The effect is akin to that of geological crystalline structures such as geodes. Landscapes by several different important designers will be presented at this time in Milan.
