Maigrau, the German design team of Alex Stamminger and Nik Back, has just launched new products at the Blickfang design fair in Stuttgart where they received a gold award. Line is a minimalist tray that functions as a shelf, singly or in multiples to create a wall installation. Split is an equally zen fruit bowl of laser cut aluminium, all angles and geometry.
Sparkling is an upcoming Fuori Salone event next month in Milan that takes place at the Fondazione Maimeri featuring the work of designers such as Filippo Ghezzani for the Home Key with their H Line (above) and Daniele Mazzoleni and Neroacciaio. Glix Studio will be there with jewellery and a new “technical” fabric, as will Hansa and some elegant ways of presenting the flow of water. Furniture by Macmamau and the Chocolate Blocks lamb carpets by Gof will be on board, along with Francesca Zoboli and Pernici.
Hool is the Mayan word for hole, and is used to name shelving by Barcelona-based Christian Vivanco, creator of the Chuun chair. Hool’s four shelves are on each of the four sides of the unit that also offers a hanger on one side. Some of Vivanco’s other designs include Roof, a chair that will shade the user and provide more privacy than most seating, and the Los Otros line of bright seating with varied angles.
