From May 30, SCI-Arc will exhibit an object made of plastic, to redefine bricks.
Blobwall Pavilion, which is on view at SCI-Arc from May 30 through July 13, 2008, is a collaboration between Greg Lynn FORM, Machineous, who manufactured the bricks, and Panelite who produced and distributed the architectural material. Blobwall Pavilion is an innovative redefinition of the brick – architecture’s most basic building unit – into a lightweight object made of colourful plastic and reinterpreted into modular elements.
You can’t jerry-rig any college dorm room shelves with these, but John Truex’s bite-size Sugarblocks are perfect for making drinks sweeter. The sugarcube one-upper came up with the idea in collaboration with Spiceship’s Audrey Russel.
